William T. “Bill” Kerr, 90, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on August 20, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born on November 24, 1933 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Thomas H. & Mary E. Kessler Kerr. Bill was a graduate of Steubenville High School and attended Indiana University. He proudly served in the US Army. Bill served as Safety Director for the City of Steubenville under Mayor Andrew Miller and Mayor William Crabbe. He retired as a Quality Control Supervisor from Weirton Steel Corporation.
Bill was a member of the Veteran’s Commission of Jefferson County and Masonic Lodge #45. He served on the Steubenville Board of Education, Joint Vocational School Board Association, Ohio School Board Association and the Jefferson County Developmental Disability Board. Bill was a strong supporter of Big Red Football and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Ruth Penn Kerr; children Tom (Shannon) Kerr & Lisa (James) Vodvarka; sister Edie Kerr; eight grandchildren James Michael, Kristina (Dakota), & Kelsey (John-Blair) Vodvarka, Mary (Robbie) Agresta, Zachary, Allie & Zane Zimish and Tanner Kerr; two great-grandchildren Gianna Vodvarka & Lincoln Stone.
Bill is preceded in death by his daughter Stacy E. Kerr Zimish; sisters Hannah Means & Audrey Kerr and brothers Norman Kerr & Walter Foust.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Private service with Rev. Ron Pritts. Burial at Union Cemetery.
