Sara A. Gaylord DiCarlantonio, 67, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, July 19, 2026. She was born in Steubenville on August 4, 1958, the daughter of the late Darrell and Josephine Cavallini Gaylord.
Sara retired from the Jefferson County Metropolitan Housing Authority. She was Catholic by faith and a devoted Big Red fan whose greatest passion in life was supporting Steubenville High School sports. Known for her big heart, Sara shared her kindness generously.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by the greatest love of her life, her son, Anthony Gaylord DiCarlantonio, who passed on February 26, 2024.
Sara is survived by her husband, Anthony, her sister, Jamie (Bob) Mackay and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Dunlope–Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Tuesday, July 28, from 3–5 p.m. Prayer services will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Michael Gossett officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
