Obituary For Pete Milicia

Pete Milicia, 94, passed away on July 24, 2026, in Waterville, Ohio. He was born on December 3, 1931, the son of the late Francesco Milicia and Rosaria (L’Donne) Milicia, originally of San Pier Niceto, Sicily, and later Adena, Ohio. Along with his parents, Pete is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Paris Milicia; his sister and brother-in-law, Patrina and Joseph Agriesti, their daughter, Rose Agriesti, and brother-in-law, James Tose. Pete was a graduate of Adena High School, attended Xavier University, and served in the United States Army.

Pete began his career in his beloved P & M Bar and Restaurant prior to working for Prudential Insurance, and eventually starting his own independent insurance agency, Milicia Insurance, until his retirement.

Pete is survived by his sister, Angeline Tose; his three children, Angela (Edward) Jackson of Westerville, Ohio, Theresa (Larry) Vietmeier, of Wauseon, Ohio, and Frank Milicia, of Long Beach, California. Pete is also survived by his five cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah, and Jessica Vietmeier, along with Anna and Erica Jackson.

Pete enjoyed an active and disciplined lifestyle that included swimming, biking, tennis, and running. Competing in a number of running events in his later years, including two National Senior Olympics, Pete earned two silver medals. The philosophy of PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) was a mantra that he both lived and encouraged. Possessing a quick wit and fierce sense of humor, Pete also loved music, cooking delicious Italian meals, his treasured hometown of Adena, Ohio, and spending time with family. He was a longtime member of St. Pius X Church in Steubenville, Ohio.

Calling hours at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., with mass following at 12:00 noon at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Michael Gossett officiating. Burial at Olive Branch Cemetery.
