Mary LaRue Barnes, 66 of Amsterdam, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. She was born in Steubenville on July 21, 1960 a daughter of the late Bruce and Helen Johnson LaRue.

Mary was a member and mainstay of Kilgore Evangelical Church and retired from Steubenville City Schools, having taught at Lincoln and Harding Schools. Mary was an avid supporter of Big Red athletics.

Mary is survived by Diane Macedonia and her family; Neal Dawson and families; Doug Caldwell and family and two siblings.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1:15 p.m. Burial at Fort Steuben.
