Obituary For Mary K. McKim

Mary K. McKim, 88, of Steubenville, formerly of Smithfield, passed peacefully with her children by her side on April 12, 2026. Mary was born on November 10, 1937, outside of Terra Alta, WV, to the late Roy & Faye Boyer. She was a very devoted mother and wife, always having everything done and ready for her family, while still making time for her friends. Mary enjoyed making crafts, quilting, baking cookies and cakes, and continuously serving her family. She was a PTA mom and a member of Piney Fork Presbyterian Church.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, William “Bill” McKim, sisters Thelma Jean & Dorothlene, and brothers Buck, Bob, Jim & William.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Mario DeStefano) McKim; son Ronald (Carolyn Wright) McKim; sister Roxie Bucklaw; and a loving granddaughter, Nema Suriano, and special friend, Christina Cunningham, who visited Mary daily at the Carriage Inn, always bringing a smile to Mom’s face.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio, on Friday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., where services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday with Peter Boritz officiating. Private burial at Holly Memorial Gardens.

    Aunt Mary always had the biggest smile on her face, every time I've had the pleasure of visiting with her! She was one of a kind! Such a kind hearted lady, whom I will miss dearly! Love you!
