Jaemyung Koh, M.D., 85, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at Valley Hospice North Care Center. Dr. Koh was born on February 28, 1939 in Taegu, South Korea, a son of the late Chang Hwan Koh & Tae Soon Kim. Dr. Koh attended Kyung-Puk National University School of Medicine receiving, his Doctor of Medicine in 1964. Dr. Koh went on to serve in the Korean military as a medical officer from 1964 – 1967. Dr. Koh then moved to the United States to start at rotating internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He went on to serve residencies at Jamaica Hospital in New York, New York in General Surgery then at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, in Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Koh achieved his medical licensure in Ohio in 1975.
Dr. Koh was certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology, Vascular and Interventional Radiography, and Neuro-Radiology, and by the Certification Council of Nuclear Cardiology in Nuclear Cardiology.
He was a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiologic Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology, Ohio State Medical Society and Jefferson County Medical Society.
Dr. Koh was an Associate Radiologist at Ohio Valley Hospital and St. John Medical Center, Senior Radiologist/Interventional Radiologist at St. John Medical Center and Senior Radiologist at Trinity Health System.
Dr. Koh is survived by his wife of 57 years Yangja Koh; son Richard Koh; daughter Jane Koh; sister Yeja Koh (husband Boyoung Kim) and 6 nephews & 5 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jaesoo & Jaesoon Koh.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday October 23, 2024 from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 5 p.m. with Rev. Dr. G. Carl Moore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
