Hugh R. “Rich” Amick, 89, of Wintersville went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Rich was born on March 26, 1935 in Steubenville, Ohio the son of the late Charles E. & Edith L. Meyer Amick. He graduated from Steubenville High School. Rich was a proud member of the U.S. Army 11th Airborne. He retired as a Railroad Engineer from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a member of Finley Methodist Church. Rich had a passion for baseball memorabilia, collecting baseball bats, baseballs and autographs.
Rich was preceded in death by his son Charles R. Amick and sister Nancy Vein. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joy E. Amick whom he married on September 20, 1964; daughter Carrie L. (Burke) Sullivan; sister Janet L. Amick and grandsons Burke Charles & Sean Michael Sullivan.
Friends may call at Finley Methodist Church, 958 Lincoln Avenue, Steubenville, Ohio 43952 on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gregory Kasler officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Rich’s name to Finley Methodist Church, 958 Lincoln Avenue, Steubenville, Ohio 43952.
