Obituary For Camillo DiCarlantonio

Camillo DiCarlantonio, 69, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 in Plain City, OH surrounded by his family. He was born on July 18, 1955 at the Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville, OH. Camillo is the son of the late Tony & Rita DiCarlantonio.

Camillo attended Saint Anthony’s Grade School, HAWKS FOREVER, and was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central in 1973. He was a proud member of the Crusader football and track team. He was named first team all-state his senior football season as a defensive back. Camillo furthered his education at the University of Steubenville where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, graduating in 1977. After turning down many job offers in the accounting field, Camillo decided to follow his passion by starting his own construction company, Cam’s Construction, which he owned and operated from 1983 until his retirement in 2018.

Camillo married the love his life, Cynthia (Beattie), on May 2, 1986. The first time they met, Camillo was working on a job when Cynthia walked by. The moment he noticed the beautiful woman admiring his craftmanship, he told her, “I’m going to marry you one day.” They fell in love at first sight.

Camillo was a dedicated family man, always prioritizing his wife and children. Later in life, he shared the same love and passion with his four granddaughters, who absolutely adored him. He was the life of the party, whether he was hosting 100 people at his house, perfectly executing Elvis Presley dance moves at weddings, or finding the nearest pole to perform the iconic Italian Flag. He had an innate ability of making everyone feel like they were family and the most important person in the room.

Camillo was an avid golfer and enjoyed each and every round he played with his son Michael; his brother Tony; his son-in-law Zack; his cousins Frankie, Tommy, and Johnny; his nephews Tommy and Anthony; and many friends.

Camillo is proceeded in death by his parents, Tony and Rita; his nephew Anthony; his sister-in-law Debra Beattie; and many aunts and uncles.

Camillo is survived by his wife Cynthia DiCarlantonio; children Michael (Stephanie) DiCarlantonio, and Maria (Zack) White; grandchildren Camilla White, Sophia White, Lydia DiCarlantonio, and Emma DiCarlantonio; siblings Teresa DiCarlantonio, Rosanna (George) Paidousis, and Tony (Sara) DiCarlantonio; in-laws Karen Beattie, Bill (Nancy) Beattie, and Kelley (Eric) Jones; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday August 30, 2024 from 3:00 until the time of services at 6:30 with Rev. Michael Gossett officiating.
