Those who served deserve a farewell that honors them. Our directors coordinate military honors, the burial flag and VA benefits for veteran families, so that you can focus on your loved one.
What we coordinate
Honoring a Veteran
Military honors
We arrange military honors for the service, including a flag-folding ceremony and the playing of Taps, where honors are available.
The burial flag
The VA provides a U.S. burial flag for a veteran who served honorably, at no cost to the family. We help you request it with VA Form 27-2008.
Headstone or marker
Eligible veterans can receive a government headstone or marker, including when buried in a private cemetery.
Presidential Memorial Certificate
A certificate signed by the president honoring the veteran’s service, available to eligible families.
Burial in a National Cemetery
Eligible veterans, service members and some family members may be buried in a VA national cemetery. The National Cemetery Scheduling Office handles requests at 800-535-1117, and our directors can contact them for you.
The VA also offers a pre-need eligibility determination, so a veteran can learn ahead of time whether they qualify. See the VA burial and memorial benefits.

Burial Allowance and Other Benefits
The VA may help pay for a veteran’s funeral, burial and transportation costs through a burial allowance. Eligibility depends on the veteran’s service and circumstances. For questions about benefits, the VA benefits hotline is 800-827-1000.
Bring the veteran’s discharge papers if you have them, often called a DD-214. If you cannot find them, tell us, and we will help you request a copy.

Sam worked closely with our family on every fine detail, and the funeral home delivered on every promise they made.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible for a VA burial flag?
A U.S. flag is provided for veterans who served honorably, and the next of kin or a close friend can request it. We will help you apply.
Do I need to bring discharge papers?
It helps. The DD-214 or other discharge document shows the veteran’s service. If you do not have it, we will help you request a copy.
Can a veteran be buried in a private cemetery?
Yes. A veteran can be buried in any cemetery, and eligible veterans can still receive a government headstone or marker and a burial flag.
Can a spouse be buried in a national cemetery?
Some spouses and dependents are eligible for burial in a VA national cemetery. Ask us, and we will check with the VA for your family.
