Zigmont “Ziggy” Miotlowski, 95, of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Mayfair Village Nursing Center, Columbus, Ohio under the care of Homereach Hospice. He was born December 21, 1917 in Bondsville, Massachusetts a son of the late Thomas L. and Louise Paryla Miotlowski. Ziggy retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a millwright. He was a member of Triumph of the Cross (Holy Name Cathedral). He graduated from Weir High School in 1938 and was a WW II Army veteran. Preceding Ziggy in death were his wife Paula E. Rudnick Miotlowski on May 24, 2009; two brothers Matthew and Gustav Miotlowski; infant brother Adolph Miotlowski and three sisters Wanda Miotlowski, Irene Miotlowski and Isabel Troia. Surviving are his daughter Mary L. (Steven) Salmen of Columbus, OH and three granddaughters Emily, Sarah and Anne Salmen. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave Funeral Home), 611 N. 4th Street, Steubenville on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated at Triumph of the Cross (Holy Name Cathedral) on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with Fr. Bradley Greer as celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Homereach Hospice, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.
