Joey so sorry to hear of your mom passing away. I remember her and your dad when we used to go to your house when we were in grade school. Life sends us many things that we must endure but we know with the grace of God we can accept them and go on. We all have friends but no one can replace our mother and father. Remembering you in my thoughts and prays. Hugs, Lucia

Do you want to know something utterly remarkable? Everyone keeps telling me you waited to die until I got to you. I think you did, so I want to tell the story of the night you died in my arms... I had left for a trip to Florida on Thursday and after I was already in the air, you got sick and went into an unconscious state. Annamarie kept telling you, "Alan's coming--Alan is coming to see you, Mom." It took four days until late Monday afternoon to get back to you and in all that time you never regained consciousness. When I got to you Monday, Anthony and Annamarie left so I could be alone with you and spend the night with you like I wanted--just us. For the first hour I just wrapped my arms around you and cried on your shoulder, but then I thought ...okay this was good to get some of the sadness of this situation out, but enough for now. I can't spend what little time I may have with you grieving. If it was true that people in your situation can sense and possibly even hear what is going on around them, then I wanted to do seething fun for both of us. So, I said to you..."Lets have one more "Pajama Party, grandma." Since I was a toddler, you would say, "Lets get into our pajamas, get good things to eat from the ice-box, watch TV, and have ourselves a "Pajama Party." I ordered a pizza, put on your favorite movie--"Three Smart Girls" (1936), and got into bed with you, held your hand, your face, hair, and your arms. I talked with you for hours, showed and described to you the dozens of pictures (of you with all of our family members) that I had brought from home. A little after midnight, I seemed to become suddenly exhausted. Your breathing had become very labored by then, so I reluctantly said goodnight to you and got into the other bed in your room. During my prayers, I said to god, "If Nanny isn't going to come out of this--if she is supposed to die, please give

I want to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Mrs. D'Aurora. I spent a lot of time with Joe at his house during grade school and high school. And I have always remembered what a wonderful, kind and caring person his mother was. She was always so nice and I never left hungry. Joe, to you and your brothers and sister and your families I will keep your mother in my prayers, she was a very special person.
