Wilmer S. “Peanuts” Moore 90 of Steubenville, Ohio died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Wooster Community Hospital, Wooster, Ohio. He was born in Armstrong County, PA on July 8, 1914 a son of the late W. Mervin and M. Clare Stewart Moore. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ; Mended Hearts and attended Steubenville City Council meetings for more than twenty years and served on the Parks & Recreation Board. After 39 years of service, Wilmer retired from Ohio Power as a lineman foreman. Wilmer was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude B. Westbrook Moore whom he married on September 2, 1936; son Robert W. Moore; four brothers and one brother-in-law. Surviving are his two daughters Carol Ann (Neil) Maly of Tallmadge, Ohio and B.J. (William G.) Fairhurst of Wooster; sister Dorothy (Al) Mulberry of Aurora, Ohio; sister-in-law Mabel Westbrook of Florida; seven grandchildren Karen (Ralph) Watson, Shannon G. (Judy) Delaney, David Moore, Ryan G. (Debbie) Delaney, Susan (Doug) Yeager, Marc Maly and Cindy (Mike) Libbens; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday 4-8 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. David Maly officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben.
