Obituary For William W. "Bill" McKim

William W. “Bill” McKim, 79, of Steubenville, OH has left and gone to be with the Lord in Heaven on Monday, February 13, 2012.  He was born October 28, 1932 on a farm in Adena, Ohio a son of the late Holly Thomas and Mary P. Harvoth McKim.  Bill was a member of Piney Fork Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.  His hobby was collecting old bottles of the 1800’s which inspired him to start the Jefferson County Antique Bottle Club, which he was a member of for 14 years.  He spent 12 years in Wadsworth, Ohio after Adena School and rest of his life in Jefferson County.  Bill retired from Wheeling-Pitt in 1986 after 20 years of service in the 80 inch mill where he was a scarfer and head hooker in the production department.  He was preceded in death by his brother David McKim.  Surviving are his wife of many years Mary K. Boyer McKim whom he married on December 7, 1957; son Ronald W. (companion Carolyn) McKim of Columbus Grove, OH; daughter Marlene (companion Mario DeStefano) McKim of Steubenville, OH; brother Martin (June) McKim of Adena, OH; sister Mary Ann Rittenhouse of Meadville, PA and special beloved pet Chewey.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Thursday 3 – 7 p.m. where a service will be held Friday 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Darrin L. Jones officiating. Burial at Holly Memorial Gardens.

    Dear Mary, Marlene, and Ron, We are so sorry for your loss. Dave and I just found out about the passing of Bill today, Saturday, February 18th, when he came out of the coke plant from Graig Polen, who also used to work at the 80 inch.
