William J. “Bill” Whitaker, 75, of Wintersville died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at home. He was born in Steubenville on July 14, 1936 a son of the late William A. Whitaker and Elizabeth S. Jones Whitaker Zende. Bill was retired from Weirton Steel as a rigger after 35 years of service. He also served in the US Army. Bill is survived by his wife Clorinda Brown Whitaker and daughter Jill (Jerry) Costello of Follansbee, WV. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Saturday from 11a.m. until time of services 12p.m. with Rev. Larry Garrison officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
