Obituary For William H. Ferguson, Sr

William H. Ferguson, Sr., 75, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 at Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit. He was born December 3, 1930 in Steubenville a son of the late Stewart and Virginia Koch Ferguson. William graduated from Steubenville High School in 1951 and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a witness at Ground Zero for Operation Tumbler-Snapper at the Nevada Proving Ground. He retired from Weirton Steel Co. plant protection dept. and also owned and operated Bob’s Bar in Alikanna. He held membership at Mingo Sportsmans Club and Knights of St. Anthony. Preceding William in death were his grandson William H. Ferguson III on May 5, 2006 and brother Stewart (Jack) Ferguson. Surviving are his wife Betty M. Bickerstaff Ferguson; sons William (Betty) Ferguson, Joseph (Pam) Ferguson and Mark Ferguson; daughters Debra (Mark) Tusay and Lynn Clark; stepson Michael (Mary Jo) Powell; stepdaughter Robin Powell Hess; 13 grandchildren and two great grandsons. Private services will be held at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Valley Hospice, Inc., 380 Summit Ave., Steubenville, Ohio 43952
