William F. “JR” “Hardrock” Johnson, Jr., 65, of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Trinity West after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Steubenville, OH on December 25, 1947 a son of the late William F. and Edna Elliott Johnson, Sr. Bill was a member of Cadiz Country Club and Catholic by faith. He retired after 42 years of service from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 495. Surviving are his wife of 43 years Cathie Alexander Johnson whom he married on May 23, 1970; son and daughter-in-law Chris & Niki Johnson of Copley, OH; two sisters Shirley Moore and Barb (Mike) Teichman all of Amsterdam, OH and nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends who loved him. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Tuesday 1 – 3 & 5– 8 pm. and on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amsterdam from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack McCoy officiating. Vigil Service Tuesday 7:45 p.m. Burial at Bergholz Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Tony Teramana Cancer Center, 3204 Johnson Rd, Steubenville, OH 43952.
