William F. “Bill” Freeman 82 of Wintersville died Monday, June 14, 2004 at Bolger Country Club Manor, Steubenville. He was born in Avon, West Virginia on June 15, 1921 a son of the late Ebb and Laura S. Furbee Freeman. Bill was a retired Boiler Room Operator at the former St. John Medical Center, Steubenville. He also worked as an electrician at the former Federal Paper Board and the former Industrial Supply, both of Steubenville. He was a member of Wintersville Baptist Temple, American Legion Post 557, Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad, Steel Valley Antique Car Club, Experimental Airplane Association, Wintersville, Carroll County Historical Society, Police Auxiliary, Wintersville and Wintersville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a U.S. Army- Air Corp veteran of W.W.II. Bill was preceded in death by brothers Orville, Clive, Harlan, Harry and Kenneth Freeman, sisters, Buie Plauger, Opal Worstall, Frieda Carothers, Elizabeth West and Addie Duncan. He is survived by his wife Mary E. Hryniewicz Freeman, daughters Gloria (Sam) Reichert of Brunswick, Ohio, Mary (Paul) Johansen of Lynn, Massachusetts, Christine Kocher (Dr. John Hyland) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joanne Freeman of Dallas, Texas and Barbara (Eddie) LeBlanc of Danvers, Massachusetts, sisters Lena Blake of Baltimore, Maryland and Irene Amend of Port Richey, Florida, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at Wintersville Baptist Temple with Rev. John Beard officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services at the cemetery In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad, 998 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
