William “Ed” Giffin 90 of Unionport, OH died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Gables Care Center. He was born in Elizabeth, WV on March 2, 1915 the son of the late William W. and Mary E. Snyder Giffin. He was Also preceded in death by two brothers Donald and Oscar “Dale“ Giffin and sister Luvada Turrill. He was a member of Unionport United Methodist Church, the Unionport Volunteer Fire Department and an army veteran serving during WWII. Ed retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company. Ed is survived by his wife Leona McNemar Giffin whom he married November 15, 1939; sons Donald (Susan) Giffin of Bloomingdale and Gerald (Joyce) Giffin of Unionport, OH; three daughters Janet Lee Giffin of Unionport, OH, Linda Jean (Richard) Brownlee of Bloomingdale, OH and Carolyn K. (David) Taylor of Wintersville, OH; sister Betty Jane (Okey) Campbell of Parkersburg, WV; five grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. only, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Rev. Deborah J. Kellar to officiate. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be directed to United Methodist Church, Unionport. Military honors conducted by Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad at the cemetery
