William E. “Bill” Kain, 92, of Steubenville, Ohio died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Mary Ann Manor, Follansbee, WV. He was born February 14, 1919 in Amsterdam, Ohio a son of the late Peter & Rose Kain. Preceding Bill in death were his wife Wilma Jean Gallon Kain; brothers John, Peter, Frank & George; sisters Ann Mulrooney & Kay Bess. He was a member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church and American Legion Argonne Post 33. An Army veteran of WWII, Bill received four Bronze Stars and served in military campaigns in Africa, Normandy, Italy and Germany. He owned and operated parking lots in downtown Steubenville.Bill is survived by his daughter Barbara (Robert) Davitt of Wintersville; three grandchildren Robert (Debra) Davitt, Jr., Barbara (Todd) Anderson and Ronald (Tiffany) Davitt; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces & nephews. Private funeral mass and burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
