I too had Mr. C for my home room teacher from 70-74 and he was a true joy. He and Mom went all thru Grant School and SHS together and Mom said he was always the same. Those of us who knew him both personally and educationally are better people for it. He was a gift to the community and will be missed immensely. I have never known a teacher who always knew you when he saw you and always stopped to chat and catch up. I will miss him and ask God to give him eternal rest and peace. Until we meet again.

Mr.C. was my homeroom teacher from 1970-1974. He was an excellent educator and carried himself with dignity.I ran into him this past July and even after not having seen me for 37 years he remembered me and even asked about my older sister and younger brother. He was still dressed to the nines and was even a kinder gentleman than I remembered. May God bless him and keep him close. My sympathy to those he leaves behind.

Dear Mal and the Croskey family, not only has Steubenville lost one of its finest citizens, we the Porter family have lost one of our dearest friends. I was fortunate enough to have known Bill since I was a child. I remember going out to Austin Lake and Bill teaching me to fish off his dock with just a string tied to my finger and a hook on the other end. Caught my first catfish. I can still hear Bill laughing as I stood proud for the picture of my catch. We miss you and will never forget the joy you brought to our lives. God bless you my friend and we will cherish the memories of the times we all spent together.

Rest well, Mf. C. Without a doubt, you were the best teacher I ever had. You made Civics come alive & I still remember our discussions in class, i.e. what would happen if we lost BOTH our President AND our V.P.? In 10 years we got to find out even though we could never have imagined it happening at the time. I got to know you the next holiday season when I was home from college & we both worked at McCauslen's. It was special knowing you as an adult as well as a student. My most sincerest sympathy.
