William E. “Bus” Frey 84 of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Friday, December 5, 2003 at Dixon Health Care Center, Wintersville, Ohio. He was born in Brilliant, Ohio on December 19, 1918 a son of the late John F. and Katherine B. Haught Frey. Bus was retired from Conrail where he had worked as a bridge and building inspector and served in the Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by one son David William Frey; five sisters Sylvia Search, Juanita Starcher, Margaret Frey, Thelma Vandeborne and Florence Vandeborne and two brothers Elmer and Charles Frey. Surviving are his wife Ruby Starcher Frey; three sons Ervin E. “Gene” (Betty) Frey of Unionport, Ohio, Gary E. (Karen) Frey of Temperance, Michigan and Terry L. (JoAnn) Frey of Bainbridge, Ohio; one brother Donald Frey of Bloomingdale; two sisters Hazel Daugherty and Donna Benvenuti both of Wintersville; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Hubert Granger officiating. Burial at Unionport Cemetery. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad to conduct services at the cemetery.
