Wanda M. (Hoover) Whanger, 87, of Steubenville, Ohio left this earth to dwell in Heaven with her Lord and Savior and her loved ones who are already there waiting to greet her. She was born March 10, 1931 at home in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late LeRoy A. and Anna Mae Mains Hoover. Wanda was a member of Finley United Methodist Church where she was a member of Friendship Sunday School Class and Gadabouts and Two Ridges Presbyterian Church. Preceding Wanda in death were her granddaughter Billie Jo Whanger; brother Bob Hoover; sister Evelyn Hoover; son-in-law Jeff King; father and mother-in-law Wyatt (Helen) Whanger and brothers-in-law Bob Oliver and George Petras. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 68 years, whom she married June 12, 1950, William Wyatt “Bill” Whanger; daughter Joyce Ann King; three sons Bill Roy (Bunny) Whanger, D. Wyatt Whanger and Allan (Michelle) Whanger; seven grandchildren Jennifer (Jim) King-Bane, Jeffrey John (Maddie) King, Jason (Tera) Whanger, Amanda (Jamie) Komonich, Rachel (Jeff) Corona, Christian (Kaitlin) Whanger and Taylor (Jac Chaffee) Stephen; 14 great grandchildren Jayna Ziklo, Jeffrey James Bane; Maximus King, Alyssa Kittle, Julia Whanger, Billy Whanger, Cameron Komonich, Cole Komonich, Corey Komonich, Ryden Corona, Marcus Corona, Leah Corona, Tiegan Chaffee and Arya Whanger; sister Dorothy Oliver; two sisters-in-law Matilda Hoover and Shirley Petras and two brothers-in-law Robert (Joanne) Whanger and David (Shirley) Whanger. Per Wanda’s request a private service was held at the convenience of the family. Burial at Union Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Dunlope - Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville.
