Obituary For Walter John Findlay

Walter John Findlay, 82, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Trinity West. He was born February 18, 1934 in Front Royal, VA a son of the late Charles and Carrie Deavers Findlay, Sr. John was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from Slates and was a foreman at the former Satralloy. Preceding John in death were his granddaughter Tara Sweet; two brothers Buster and Charles Findlay and two sisters Orabelle Grimm and Jean McClelland. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, whom he married June 14, 1956, Joann White Findlay; two sons John and Michael Findlay both of Orlando, FL; three daughters Kate Findlay of Wintersville, OH, Ann (Shawn) Martin of Wintersville, OH and Jodi (Matt) Lee of Steubenville, OH; six grandchildren Charles (Brittany) Jacobs, Corey Jacobs, Colton Findlay, Gabriel Martin, Kaylin Lee and Hunter Lee; three brothers Dick (Cigna) Findlay of Steubenville, OH, Blaine (Jan) Findley of Kissimmee, FL and Huck Findley of Toronto, OH and sister Liz Bentley of Toronto, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. with Joe DeCesare officiating.
