Obituary For Walter J. Vojvodich

Walter J. “Bud” Vojvodich 79 of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday afternoon, September 30, 2004 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was born in Steubenville on July 2, 1925 a son of the late Mile and Mildred Prica Vojvodich. Bud was the retired stadium manager at Wintersville High School. He was a member of St. John Newmann Catholic Church, Mulberry, Florida; Lakeland Elks Lodge 1291; Sherwood Archery Club and an avid bowler. He served in the Navy during WWII. Preceding Bud in death were two brothers Lawrence Vojvodich and Ret. Major General Mele Vojvodich. Bud is survived by his beloved wife of forty-eight years Dorothy A. Fabey Vojvodich; son Edward M. (Regina) Vojvodich of West Palm Beach; two daughters Dorothy (Dave) Yeager and Aleta (Al) Dodson both of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers Melvin (Fern) Vojvodich of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and George W. (Debbie) Vojvodich of Bradenton, Florida; three sisters Mildred Vojvodich of Wintersville, Nancy (Glenn) Bonnell of Mulberry, Florida and Kathryn (Larry) Pownall of Steubenville; and three grandsons E.J. Vojvodich, Sean Elliot Vojvodich and Tommy Yeager. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with Msgr. William Cornelius officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either American Heart or American Diabetes Associations.
