Obituary For Walter H. "Bloon" Poole

Walter H. “Bloon” Poole, 85, of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Trinity West.  He was born January 9, 1928 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Harry and Katherine Kincaid Poole.  Bloon was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  He retired from Wheeling – Pitt where he worked as a crane man in the 45 inch mill.  Bloon was a charter member of Brentwood United Methodist Church.  He was also a charter member of Forest Hills Golf Course which is currently Red Oaks.  Bloon was an avid Big Red Fan, liked playing cards and an avid golfer having recorded 7 hole-in-ones.  He was a Navy and Coast Guard veteran.  Preceding Bloon in death were his brother Harry Poole and daughter-in-law Christine Poole.  Surviving are his wife of 61 years Ruth Elizabeth Artman Poole, whom he married on June 22, 1952; children Deborah Saltsman of Pataskala, OH, Robert A. “Bubba” Poole of Wintersville, OH, Donnajean (Russell) Barker of Wintersville, OH, Kenny Poole of Wintersville, OH and DeAnn “Dee” Clark of Pataskala, OH; ten grandchildren Melanie Grossi Russ, Clyde Barker, Troy Barker, Brittney Poole, Jordon Poole, Andrew Barker; Kinsey Marie Poole, Rebecca Barker, Garrett Walker Clark and Carson Dean Clark; five great grandchildren; sister Rachael Gaulesky of Weirton, WV; brother Gary “Gus” (Karen) Poole of Steubenville, OH; two sisters-in-law Margaret Poole of St. Louis, MO and Martha Rock of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law Clair “Bud” (Margaret) Artman of Wintersville, OH and many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH Monday 5 – 8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling and Rev. Randy Sells officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.

    Ruth and Family Dick and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. We had gone to see Lauren yesterday and she said she remembers ya'll and remember when we ask her what Walters name was and she said God. We had some good memories when ya'll visit Texas, he was a fine person.
