Walter F. “Tiny” Pleise 76 of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, June 7, 2003 at U.P.M.C., Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on March 29, 1927 a son of the late Harry H. and Effie Mae Benedict Pleise. He was retired from Steubenville Pottery and Satralloy in Mingo Junction, Ohio. Tiny was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of Wintersville American Legion Post 557. He was preceded in death by one brother Harry Pleise and two sisters Lillian Jarzabek and Mary Ellen Oxier. Surviving are his wife of 55 years Helen Marie Cooper Pleise whom he married on August 27, 1948; one daughter Sharon Marie Pleise of the residence; two brothers William H. Pleise of Richmond, Ohio and Charles Pleise of Lecanto, Florida; and one sister Dorothy Wells of Ravenna, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Rev. David Sperry officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services at the cemetery chapel.
