Wallace A. “Vince” Baker, 74, of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Carriage Inn of Steubenville. He was born August 31, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Lester & Dorothy C. Leach Baker. He worked at the Steubenville Police Department and attended Finley United Methodist Church. Preceding Vince in death were his wife Gertrude E. Baker; daughter Helen Lazich; brother Garland Baker and a sister Vashti “Vickie” Thomes. Surviving are his daughter Mary Milewsky; brother Monti Baker; four grandchildren Kimmy, Jennifer, John and David Miller; sister-in-law Thelma Wells; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his dog Francesca. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave Funeral Home), 611 N. Fourth St., Steubenville on Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. where a service will be held Friday 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.

dear mary, very sorry about your loss. vince was a guy with a heart as big as gold, i will ne ver forget him, he was a sweet guy, and the only guy who called me MOM. everyone was mom and dad to him, May he rest in peace.
