Our deepest condolences to all of Kay's family. Our family has many good memories of Kay spending Thanksgiving day with us. She was my mom's (Anna Bates) boss when they worked at Ohio Valley Hospital. My mom and her developed a great friendship. The Bates family will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn Kay's passing.Sincerely, Karyn Bates Zappala

Worked under Kay as a new RN in the 70s. She was the manager in the ICU/CCU and demanded the best from her employees. She was responsible for developing my critical care skills and I was forever thankful to her for that over my 42 year nursing career!
