Obituary For Virginia "Ginny" Griffin

Virginia Belle "Ginny" Griffin former hostess of WSTV'S "Look Ladies" and '"Listen Ladies' for many years, passed away August 1, 2008 at St. Anthony's Nursing Home in Crown Point, Indiana. Virginia was a very active member and past president of many organizations such as Soroptomist and Civic Service.The long-term Steubenville, Ohio resident had been living with her daughter Judith and son-in-law R.J. "Babe" Woodward in Crown Point for several years."Ginny" was born Virginia Belle McCauley on July 21, 1920 to Howard and Marvelous McCauley in Olive, Ohio. She later moved to Holliday's Cove, West Virginia (now Weirton), where: she met and married Edgar P. Griffin. He passed away in December 1995.Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Blaine McCauley, sister Violet Fogle Kovach; 2 infant sisters, and a grand-daughter Elizabeth Lacko.Her survivors include, Judith (Babe) Woodward of Crown Point, daughter Patricia Lacko of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, grandchildren Brian (Chris) Woodward of Lowell, Indiana; Lisa (Larry) Skratsky of Demotte, Indiana; David (Sue) Woodward or Valparaiso, Indiana; Barry (Dcbbi) Woodward of Plymouth, Indiana; Wendy (Jim) Graham of Oak Creek, Colorado; Judi Lacko of Parker, Colorado; Jodi (Eric) Dorris of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; sister Bonnie (Ed) Bailey; brother Sterling (Helen) McCauley all of Belle Valley, Ohio and brother Paul McCauley of Los Gatos, CA, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grand-daughter, many nieces and nephews, special friends and care-givers Susie Woodward, Erma Noel, Debbie Burton and the staff of Residential Home Health and St. Anthony's Nursing Home.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Shearer officiating.  Burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery Weirton, West Virginia.

    To Judy, Patty and your families, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was a really great lady. I have so many good memories of her. She was always so kind to me.     I remember Ginny ... as a grand lady on WSTV and working downtown..She invited me to her home and was such a hostess...her home was a lovely as she. I felt so honored to be invited. With the ivy growing up the home.. as our lives mingle..she touch many hearts. She will be remembered as a Grand Lady of Steubenville..and many more . Will miss Ginny. She will be an bright star in the heavens. Blessed Be
