Dear Susanne, We are sorry to hear about the death of your dear mother. The Cook family sends their condolences to you and your family. Our mother, Ruth Transue Cook, died February 6, 2007. She had congestive heart failure but we were blessed in that she was able to stay at home and died in her sleep. I note that our mothers were both born in 1913! My wife Sharon and I visited Steubenville in June 2007 as we were in Pittsburgh attending the United States Open at Oakmont Country Club. It was a terrific trip down memory lane to see the old house, Steubenville Country Club, Williams Country Club, Westminster Presbytarian Church, etc. It was sad seeing my grandmother's dilapidated home on 6th Street and the disappearance of my father's business, H.C. Cook Company, printer's building on 3rd Street. I will remember your mother in my prayers. Sincerely yours, Oliver T. Cook

The receint loss of your mother Suzie, your grand- mother Lisa and Gui, and your great grand-mother Julio and Stephanie, this too is a loss for me and my family as well. I too feel the sorrow and the pain left behind. But at the same time I will celebrate the positive impact she has had on my life. For Virginia N Curn was seen by me as many things. Spanning three generations, she was a mother, a grand-mother and a great grand-mother. And because a person's character counts, I also viewed her as neighborly, friendly, kind, helpful, generous and supportive to me and my family throughout the many years me and my family have known her. In return, Mrs. Curn, as we had called her, invoked a degree of respect from us as we engauged in helpful behavior, exchanged advice and shared memories. We will always and forever be blessed because of her. I personally viewed Mrs. Curn as a contributor back to life. She was a role model only few could imitate. She had done things in a way few people would have had the strength or courage to do. With admiration and acceptance I have taken her as an example to follow. Suzie, Lisa, Gui, Julio and Stephanie, I will always and forever celebrate her life because of the role she has played in my life for so many years. Sincerely and forever yours, and in loving memory of Mrs. Curn, Mrs. Curn will forever be missed in me and my family's hearts. William M Isaac

I served on the Woman's Advisory Board with Virginia, and have often thought about her good record keeping for the Board. She did us all a service by saving articles, clippings, etc. She had a great sense of humor, too. I'll miss my friend. Mary Ann Wehr Chorpenning.

Dear Susanne, Gui, Lisa and Alison, This is a sad day and also a glorious one as well. Virginia is now reunited with Todd and your Dad. She is now pain free and at peace. Virginia was a grand lady and it was such an honor to have known her and share many wonderful memories with her and the family. Of course the latest memory is of Gui and Alison's wedding. We all witnessed her love and pride for Gui as she danced with him. The pride on her face as she watched Steph and Julio dance together was seen by all. She will be missed by you all and all those who knew her. God bless you all and hold you in the palm of His hand. We love you, Fred and Karen
