Virginia I. (Rayl) Dear 86 of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit. She was born in Fairplay, Ohio on March 24, 1918 a daughter of the late Price T. and Ella G. Poe Rayl. She was a member of First U.P. Church in Mingo Junction. Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband Ted Hanlin; second husband Seward L. Dear; son Delvin Hanlin; sister Leona Mae Schaffer; six grandsons Sean Hanlin, Derrick and Scott Bauer, Michael and Sean Carnahan and D.J. Lancaster; three stepsons Kenneth, Jack and Jerry Dear; and two stepdaughters Violet Ely and Mary Lou Diequez. She is survived by four sons Michael (Carol) Hanlin of Akron, Martin (Susan) Hanlin of Mingo, James Dear of Bloomingdale, and Jerome Dear of North Palm Beach, FL; seven daughters Brenda Carnahan of Warren, Ohio, Ruth Haynes of Mingo, Lorna Grimm of FL, Ellen Everhart of Bloomingdale, Sandra (James) Lancaster of New Cumberland, Cynthia (Dana) Grimm of Wintersville and Vivian Bauer of North Palm Beach; two stepsons Seward (Hilda) Dear, Jr. of Canton, Ohio and Ralph Dear of Steubenville; stepdaughter Shirley (Leonard) Jackson of Steubenville; many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren; three brothers Marvin (Mary) Rayl of Akron, Paul (Marylou) Rayl of E. Springfield, Ohio and Curtis (Betty) Rayl of Bolivia, NC; and six sisters Ruth (William) Hanlin of Bloomingdale, Glenna Riddle of Akron, Valerie Hahn of Williamsport, PA; Elva Plantz, Hannah Rayl and Joyce (Howard) Adams all of Hartville, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial at Bloomingdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice.
