Virginia E. “Ginny” Melching, 96, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Sienna Woods, Wintersville, Ohio. She was born on January 30, 1920 in Steubenville the daughter of the late Ernest and Minnie Melching. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five sisters; two brothers; a niece Bertha “Boots” Edgar and a nephew Wilbur Lee. She was a retired teacher from the Neighborhood House where she devoted her life taking care of the children. She is survived by her nieces Marie Brobston and Marlene (John) Rhueff both of Steubenville and Joann Mancano of Wintersville and nephews Edward (Carol) Aldridge of Georgia and Robert (Jane) Aldridge of Steubenville. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. (noon) with Pastor Bobbyjon Bauman officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
