Virgil Earl Darling 77 of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Monday, November 10, 2003 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born in Kenova, WV on August 5, 1926 a son of the late Joseph and Edna Scott Darling. He was a retired master carpenter from Carpenters Union 186 with forty years service. His memberships include Wintersville Baptist Temple, American Society of Tool Engineers, Hopedale American Legion and Boy Scout Troop 186. Virgil served in US Navy during WWII. Virgil was preceded in death by one daughter Diana Lynn; five brothers and four sisters. Surviving are his wife Nancy Maxine Litten Darling; children Carol Edna Price of Santa Rosa, CA, Cortland Arthur (Nikki) Darling of Richmond, Ohio, Dennis Neil (Mary) Darling of Phoenix, AZ, Wesley Howard (Tina) Darling and Cathlene E. Darling both of Bloomingdale; one brother John J. Darling of Lorain, Ohio; one sister Wavie Smyer of British Columbia and fourteen grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. John Beard officiating. Burial at Unionport Cemetery.
