Violet M. Leatherman, 74, of Lakeland, FL formerly of Toronto, OH died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Lakeland, FL. She was born in Industry, PA on April 14, 1934 a daughter of the late Dent and Esther Beighey Hill. Violet was retired from St. John Hospital where she was a surgical instrument technician, and was a member of Toronto American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary. Preceded in death by two sisters and a daughter. She survived by her husband Morris Leatherman; daughters Barbara Danner of Lakeland, FL, Sandra Wilson and Rebecca Swickard of Richmond, OH; sons John and Daniel Stewart of Lakeland, FL and Robert and Bill Stewart of Steubenville; brothers James and Thomas Hill of Unionport, OH and Roy Hill of Katy, TX; sister Esther Gross of Unionport, OH; step-son Terry Leatherman of Dover, OH; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Saturday from 6-8p.m. and Sunday 2-4, 6-8p.m, where funeral services will be held on Monday, 10a.m. with Rev. Deborah Kellar officiating. Burial at Bloomingdale Cemetery. American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary will conduct services on Sunday, 7:30p.m. at the funeral home.
