Obituary For Vincent DiBias

Vincent L. “Chook” DiBias, 68, of Steubenville, Ohio died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Valley Hospice Care Center North.  He was born October 16, 1945 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Vincent B. and Rose Elizabeth Petrini DiBias.  Vincent was a good woodworker and carpenter.  He was an avid golfer and played at all the local courses.  He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he worked as a craneman.  Chook was a 1963 graduate of Warwood High School and went on to study at West Liberty State College.  He served in the US Army Reserve.  Surviving are his wife, whom he married on September 27, 1969, Barbara A. Socha DiBias; daughter Victoria “Torrie” DiBias of Steubenville, OH; son Brian (Michelle McMhon) DiBias of Florida; sister Cheryl (Craig) Peyton of Wheeling, WV; three grandchildren Lila, Sophia and Alexander DiBias all of Florida; mother-in-law Lucy Ferlise Socha of Wheeling, WV; niece Natalie Naegele of Wheeling, WV and nephew Nicholas Naegele of Wheeling, WV.  Friends may call at Dunlope - Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating.  Memorial donations may be directed to American Heart Association.

    I went to grade school with Vincent at Warwood Grade where my mother, Mrs. Rice, taught the private kindergarten. He was a wonderful boy and I am very sorry to read of his death. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
