Dear Family Members, We have lost truly a great man He was a gentle giant, unless you made him mad. Chief was a very dedicated officer serving over 46 Years with Wintersville and Cross Creek Twp. He spent hundreds of hours of his own time working to build the new Cross Creek Police offices at the airport in 2000. He truly loved working with and for the people. I have been blessed to have been one of his friends. May the good lord give peace and comfort to his family. John D.

Dear Tim, Denise, Dave and Annette, I have thought of you all countless times today, since hearing about your dad. I feel so fortunate to have been able to share some of the memories of him that will live on, and for that I am truly grateful. The one day that I will never forget was the Easter that we (Tim, Denise and I) thought it would be a great idea to give Annette the bunny rabbit...did not go over so well with the Chief!!! I had to share that one, I think of it every Easter and always will : ) Vic loved his work through the years, but most of all he loved his family. There is no greater joy than feeling and knowing the love and protection that a parent provides. I can't help thinking that he has to be at peace now that he has been able to reunite with your mom, the absolute love of his life. My thoughts, love and prayers are with you all. Love, Tonja

Your father was so good and kind to me. I worked at Harts from 1974 til 1978 when I left and went to wheeling Pittsburgh steel. I was a divorced mother of 2 very small children. I worked customer service and spent many evenings standing up front at closing time with your dad. I was really struggling financially and he asked me "do you have a turkey forThanksgiving? I told him not yet, then he said,"you come out to the house and get a turkey, people are always giving me turkeys I want you to have one. I'm sure you have heard many stories about your dad like this. This is a great memory of him for me. So sorry for your loss.

I haven't talked with Vic or Martha in over thirty years when they asked me to sit with them during Denise's wedding because I moved to another state. Vic was larger than life, he made an impression on me when I was a teen that has helped guide me to always do the right thing to this day. I will never forget him or the Calabrese family dispite the distance or time, they are special to me. It's not often grown men cry, but I'm not ashamed to say I shed a tears when I heard the news. God speed Vic.

It sad to say goodbye to a person like Vic that has been so instrumental in so many peoples lives. A person that would motivate if needed but also had the ability and willingness to listen. You didnt have to look to the sky for a hero,he was standing right next to you.

Vic, you was the best supervisior and Chief of Police that I have ever worked for. You knew how to get along with people, and to be a leader of a law enforcement agency. You was the one who taught me how to shoot a firearm, and I am a very good shooter because of you. You are a true friend, and I will keep you in my prayers. Will visit your grave site the next time I come to Wintersville. I contribute alot of my success in law enforcement because of you. You friend, Ron Feschak
