Obituary For Very Rev. Vasilije B. Sokolovic

Very Rev. Vasilije B. Sokolovic, former pastor of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Steubenville, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Proto Sokolovic is survived by his wife Protinica Zorine Vitkovich Sokolovic; children Mirjana (Milan) Damljanovic & Deacon Teodor (Tanja) Sokolovic; grandchildren Maksim, Makarije, Izabella & Metodije; and brother Vladimir (Erika) Sokolovic.

Friends may call at St. Sava Orthodox Cathedral, 6306 Broadview Road, Parma, OH on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Friday 8 a.m. followed by funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. Burial at Monastery Marcha Cemetery.

    So sorry to learn of the good Reverend's passing. It was our pleasure to get to know him when he officiated our wedding 35 years ago this month. We ran into him many times over the years and he was always so genuinely glad to see us. May God grant him eternal peace and may God grant solace to his family.
