Vern was a part of my neighbor family on Terrace Drive; for over 30 years.   I remember the "hair hat"; and it was a long time before I even knew he did NOT have hair.  He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers; enjoyed watching the Super Bowl game with the family.  My fondest memories were his Avon delivery orders; as he would joke that he was working with Carolyn for his "Avon Deodorant".  He always was kind and caring.  Thoughts and prayers to Carolyn and Brian.  Love, David & Lori Hastwell

He and his wife were two of my favorite customers when I worked in WINTERSVILLE. I loved his hat he always wore.  Rest in peace my sweet friend.   Hugs to you Caroline.

I first met Vernon as a patient in the office I work at. He always had a smile, or said something to make you laugh. Then one of his family members married into my husband's family and I became Cuz. I still remember the day he came into the office with the hair hat. If you knew Vernon you know what I'm talking about. I went out on search of one for my hubby. He loves it and still wears it. It is forever known as the Vernon. Rest in peace Cuz. We will miss you. Prayers for your family.

Vernon was a joy to be around. We always enjoyed sharing time with him at church and at the Steubenville Class Reunion. I enjoyed his sense of humor and his hair. I did not get to know him until we became members at the Starkdale Presbyterian Church.  I am sorry that I didn't know him sooner. He was a good man and will be missed by all that knew him.  RIP, Vernon
