Verna Koniski 75 of Steubenville, Ohio died Monday, May 5, 2003 at Trinity East. She was born in Central City, PA on July 5, 1927 a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Csecsohoiezski Poprik. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and had worked in Weirton Steel Tin Mill. Verna was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Caryl Lynn Koniski; one brother Joseph Poprik and four sisters Sue Blair, Helen Colaczio, Pauline Lawrence and Ann Burns. Surviving are her husband Stanley A. Koniski whom she married on April 22, 1947; three sons Tom Koniski of Steubenville, Butch (Connie) Koniski and William (Mia) Koniski both of Wintersville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother George Poprik of Follansbee, WV and two sisters Mary Zwierzchowski and Dolores Pete of Weirton, WV. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius Church with Msgr. William Cornelius officiating. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville. Vigil services 3:45 p.m. Wednesday
