Obituary For Vasil R. "Russ" Oblockovich III

Vasil R. “Russ” Oblockovich III, 56, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Trinity West and has rejoined his son and parents.  He was born June 4, 1955 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Vasil and Emma Ekovich Oblockovich, Jr.  Russ was an operator for Arcelor Mittal Steel.  Russ was preceded in death by a son Robert M. “Robbie” Oblockovich.  Surviving are his son Vasil R. Oblockovich IV of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter Michelle (Lucas) Spencer of Irondale, OH; two granddaughters Tatiana Irie and Zenfira Spencer; and sister Ann (Skip) Brown of Mingo Junction, OH.  Friends may call at Dunlope - Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Friday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating.  Burial at Serbian Cemetery.  Pomen Friday 6 p.m.

    Michelle & Russ, We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. He was a great man and father. He loved his children very much! He was such a proud grandfather. I saw him not to long ago at walmart and his eyes just gleemed when he was talking about his grandchildren. Alot of great memories we have with him Serbian Christmas and Baseball just a great person.     I worked with Rus for many years at Weirton Steel. We spent many "Serbian" Christmas's at his home celebrating in the Orthodox tradition. My thoughts and prayers go out to his children. Cherish your memories and he will always be in your heart. God Bless you all.
