Valerie “Jeannie” Battlochi Scardina, 64, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with her family by her side.
Valerie, affectionately known as “Jeannie” was born on September 30, 1960, in Steubenville to the late Eugene “Babo” and Genta Jones Battlochi. She was a longtime Irondale resident and graduated from Wintersville High School.
Jeannie married her husband Andy Scardina on August 6, 2003.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Andy, daughter Tracy (Brian) Sullivan, son Kevin (Heather) Patterson, grandchildren Brooke Sullivan, Marie Patterson, Evan Patterson, siblings; Susan (Steve) Browning, Patty (Jay) Hutter, Cindy (Lee) Woods, Geno (Shawna) Battlochi, Brenda (Ron) Holt, Angela (Corey) Telshaw along with many nieces and nephews.
She spent many years working at Kaufmann’s Department Store followed by AVI Food Systems.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services for Jeannie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Jeannie's passing. So many good memories of our time at Kaufmanns. I can still see her buzzing around housewares with Mr Blair & Lenora! May God comfort Jeannie's family at this difficult time.
