I was sad to hear of Val's passing. I remember fondly the many times my dad and I went to his shop for a haircut. He was always smiling and happy to see us. Prayers to his family. I hope Dave, Trent, and Valerie are well. God Bless you all.

Dear Anna,As difficult as these past months have been for you and your family, I know Val will be dearly missed by all of you. I have known Val since we were in first grade together at Grant School and it was always a treat to have both of you attend our many reunions for our great SHS class of 1952. Val was loved by many and I can't even imagine how many hair cuts he has provided to so many over these years, and of course, you were at his side, Anna. He will be missed by so many of us, but I am certain that you and your extended family will have wonderful memories to help you in the difficult days ahead. May God be with all of you as He welcomes Val to his final resting place with an everlasting peace. With sincere love and sympathy,Kay Lisle Haines, SHS Class of 1952Powell, OHklislehaines@aol.com

I was saddened to hear of Val's passing. I moved out of the Valley after graduating from Mingo High School in 1979, but I have the fondest childhood memories of getting my hair cut by Val. My father Mario would always take me. I remember his warm smile and friendly demeanor. He provided more than haircuts. He was a person who genuinely cared about people. I guess that is why I can't remember the names of most of the people who have cut my hair, but I remember Val like it was yesterday. God bless.
