  I am so sorry to read about Mr. Brown. He was one of my favorite teachers at Wintersville H.S. and I can still remember the things he taught us over 25 years ago. He had an interesting way of lecturing - he just talked to us, told us stories and practical methods instead of just lecturing to us from a textbook.   Mr. Brown was my teacher for 3 years in high school. I also went on a trip to Europe in one of his groups. After I graduated from high school, I was rejected from every college I applied to. I was finally told that if I could pass some courses at the community college over the Summer, I would be accepted at a 4 year college. During that Summer, Mr. Brown tutored me at his own home, on his own time, for no money because he cared. If not for his help, I never would have gone to college, earned a degree and found a good job. I consider myself very lucky to have known Thomas Brown. He was a very giving, caring man who loved to teach and he will be missed. I am very sorry for the loss of this great man and teacher.

  So sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Brown. He was one of my most memorable teachers I had. He certainly peaked my interest in the sciences. He was able to take complicated material and make it understandable. As a child, I didn't realize what a gem of a teacher he was - but looking back, I was blessed to have him as my teacher.   Mr. Brown was the best teacher I ever had...I already loved the sciences, and he just built upon that with his excellent teaching style. I actually learned in his class, and I could tell he actually cared about helping his students do just that (learn). Sadly, teachers like Mr. Brown seem to be few and far between these days!   Mr. Brown's love of the science transcended in all of his teachings. The sciences became all I ever took interest in during high school & therefore had an impact on me becoming a nurse.   I was saddened to learn of Tom's passing from my mother Wanda Sharp. And while I did not know his son or daughter he left behind, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family. I remember fondly of our family get-to-gethers at Ruth and "Brownies" home many years ago that were joyful gatherings with Tom's two sisters Mary Sue and Dorothy. Tom was a fine teacher and most assuradly a good husband, father and brother.

I became a nurse after high school and what I learned in his class that year I still remember and it has served me well through the years of my career. He was a nice man and a great teacher.
