Thomas M. “Tom” Andrews, Sr., age 83, of Steubenville, OH passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Garden Manor Extended Care in Middletown, OH. He was born on February 25, 1932 in Toronto, OH, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Herrick) Andrews. He graduated from the University of Steubenville and obtained his Master’s degree from West Virginia University. During the Korean Conflict, Tom served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Randolph. On August 18, 1962, he married Dorothy A. Mosiejewski who preceded him in death in 2001. Tom taught English and Latin in the Indian Creek School District for over 30 years and was named Teacher of the Year in 1994. After “retiring,” he taught at West Virginia Northern Community College and the University of Steubenville. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the American Legion, and Knights of Columbus #472 where he was a 3rd Degree. He is survived by two sons, Chuck (Lori) Andrews of Hamilton, OH and Tom (Lindsay) Andrews, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Kay Dojonovic of Mingo Junction, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Angela Marie; two brothers; and two sisters. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, OH from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 24 followed by the Recitation of the Rosary. Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 25 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 280 Rosemont Ave., Steubenville, with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ohio Rite to Life, 88 E. Broad Street, Suite 620, Columbus, OH 43215 or to the University of Steubenville, 1235 University Blvd., Steubenville, OH 43952.

Donna has know Dorothy since 1970 through St. John's Hospital. After we were married in 1978 we visited Dorothy and Tom almost every year while on vacation. Living in Minnesota, we were not able to come to the services for Tom, but our thoughts and prayers are with him and the family. God bless, Paul & Donna
