Thomas J. McConnell, 73, of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born March 22, 1933 in Steubenville a son of the late Thomas B. and Gertrude McConnell. He was Protestant by faith and an avid fisherman and bowler. Thomas retired from Timet and also the former Hub of Steubenville as an appliance repairman. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Yorktown. Preceding Thomas in death was his sister Emily Yates. Surviving are his wife Arlene L. Zanotelli McConnell; three sons Thomas (Sharon) McConnell of Reynoldsburg, Richard McConnell of Cincinnati and Gregg McConnell of Bexley; six grandsons Thomas (Lesley) McConnell, Christopher McConnell, Ryan M. McConnell, Eric Hughes, Richard McConnell & Ryan J. McConnell; two great grandchildren Shannen & Sean McConnell; and brother Charles (Linda) McConnell of Wellsburg. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. William Hibbs officiating.
