Obituary For Thomas J. Abrams

Thomas J. Abrams 83 of Wintersville, OH died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at his residence of natural causes. He was born in Carnegie, PA on February 29, 1920 a son of the late Alex and Mary David Abrams. He was a retired certified public accountant in Steubenville, having operated his own accounting firm. Member of Zion Church of Christ, Steubenville, Accountancy Board of Ohio, The Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants Mahoning Valley Chapter, Lions Club and Elks Lodge #231 both of Steubenville, Jefferson Sportsman’s Club, Steubenville Country Club, Pilgrim Lodge 691 F&AM.. Tom was the founder of the local Dapper Dan Club and attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II. Preceded in death by his wife Caroline Floto Abrams on February 28, 1996, brothers Mike and Lou Abrams, sisters Sue Ibraham, Ann Kirker and Betty Silverman. Surviving are son James T. (Deborah J.) Abrams of Wintersville, daughter Beth Ann Abrams of Columbus, OH, sister Betty Myers of Chicago, IL, friend Mary Hazlett of Smithfield, OH, sister-in-laws Jean Henry of Steubenville and Lillie Abrams of Pittsburgh, PA, grandchildren Amanda Jo and Alex James Abrams. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friends may also call on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 139 N. 5th Street, Steubenville with Rev. Thomas Bullard officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Elks service 7:30 P.M. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Church.
