Obituary For Steve A. Simeraro, Sr

Steve A. Simeraro, Sr., a Born Again Believer, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Palliative Care. He was born March 29, 1922 son of the late Anthony Simeraro and Jenny Pate Simeraro Blancato. Steve graduated from Wells High School and served as a sargeant in the Army during WWII. He was an active member, deacon and usher at Life In The Word Ministry and helped work on different church buildings. He retired from Weirton Steel B.O.P. after 42 years of service and was a member of American Legion Post 351; Mingo Sr. Citizens; Shanagu; A.A.R.P. and 25 Year Club. He served as president, player agent and coach for Mingo Little League for 21 years. Steve loved the boys and the game, as well as fishing, camping and traveling and reading God’s Word. Preceded in death by 3 brothers Frank Simeraro and Tony and Joe Blancato; 3 sisters Rose Nepa, Antonette Mihalik and Kay Petrullo and stepfather Guy Blancato. Surviving are his wife of 58 years Carolyn Carrocci Simeraro; two sons whom he loved dearly Pastor Paul M. (Denise) Simeraro and Steve A. (Patty) Simeraro, Jr.; three grandchildren, the pride of his life Aaron (wife Jackie), Benjamin and Rachel Simeraro ; brothers William (Elsie) Blancato, Ernest Blancato, Richard (Pam) Blancato; and Guy (Liz) Blancato; two sisters Mary Faccuito and Angie Holbrook; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo on Friday 5-8 p.m. Funeral services 1 p.m. Saturday at Life In The Word Ministry, corner of Third & South Streets, Steubenville with Pastor Paul Simeraro officiating.
