Sophia Findlay 93 of Lewisville, TX formerly of Amsterdam, OH died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at her daughter’s residence in Lewisville after a brief illness. She was born in Steubenville, OH on June 26, 1910 the daughter of the late George and Rosa Jurich Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Findlay on June 8, 2002 and a son, John D. Findlay on November 11, 1992; 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Sophia was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church and the Sveta Petka Kolo Women’s Auxiliary of the church; The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Wheeling, WV; LaBelle Chapter of Eastern Stars O.E.S.#414; and Ladies Oriental Shrine. She is survived by her daughters, Priscilla (Paul) Baily of Mentor, OH and Judith (Raymond) Ford of Lewisville, TX. Four grandchildren, Kimberly Krantz of Dallas, TX, Linda (Martin) Puussaar of Shaker Hts., OH, Eric Ford of Dallas, TX and David Baily of Painesville, OH and a great grandson, Samuel Puussaar. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday from 6 till 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Very Rev.
