Shirley D. McNeil, 80, of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at Country Club Manor. She was born September 27, 1938 in Steubenville a daughter of the late Lester & Lois Irvin Tressler. Shirley was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church, the church circle and FOP 97 Auxillary. She was a 1957 graduate of Wintersville High School and was a secretary at Freshwater Homes and the former RJB Security. Preceding Shirley in death were her infant son William J. McNeil, Jr.; three sisters JoAnn Eiler, Linda Jean Bickerstaff & Dorsey McNeil; and two brothers Lester & Charles Tressler. Shirley is survived by her husband of 61 years, William J. “Bill” McNeil, Sr., whom she married on October 10, 1957; son John (Trish) McNeil of Wintersville; daughters Robin Foote of Manchester, TN & Lori (Jim) Balvin of Bloomingdale; five grandchildren Allan & Ashley McNeil, Kaitlin Dolfi, Courtenay & Megan Balvin; and three great grandchildren Jianna, Peyton & Camden. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 4-7 p.m.; where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday with Minister Mike Surgenor and Rev. Carl Moore officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorials may be directed to Starkdale Church.
