Sara S. “Sally” Glaub 83 of Wintersville, Ohio died Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Trinity West. She was born in Curwensville, PA on June 10, 1920 a daughter of the late Charles Albert and Laura Boyce Sawtelle. Sara was a member of Starkdale U.P. Church, Miriam Circle and Starkdale Womans Association. A former Sunday School Teacher and Girl Scout Troop leader, she was also the founder of the Meals on Wheels Program and held membership in Daughters of the American Revolution and Poplar Twig. She served as a past board member of Neighborhood House and City Rescue Mission. During World War II, Sara worked in the offices of Weirton Steel Corp., Strip Steel department and also had worked as a reporter for the Herald Star. Mrs. Glaub is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years Joseph L. Glaub; son Joseph C. “Jody” Glaub and his wife Carolyn of Weirton; two daughters Janice Rainbolt of McLean, Virginia and Susan Williams and her husband Donald also of McLean, Virginia; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters Winifred Green and Adeline Connor preceded her in death. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Friday, friends may call at Starkdale U.P. Church from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with The Rev. John Zuercher officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
